Classic Hot Jasmine Green Tea
A light, floral, and soothing hot tea made with jasmine green tea and fresh water. This simple recipe brings out the delicate aroma of jasmine while keeping the green tea smooth and refreshing.

- * 4 teaspoons loose jasmine green tea leaves or 4 jasmine green tea bags
- * 4 cups fresh filtered water
- * 2 teaspoons honey or sugar optional
- * 4 thin lemon slices optional
- * 4 fresh mint leaves optional
Heat the filtered water until it reaches about 175°F to 185°F. Do not let the water fully boil.
Add 1 teaspoon of loose jasmine green tea leaves to each cup, or place 1 tea bag in each mug.
Pour 1 cup of hot water over the tea in each mug.
Cover the mugs or teapot and let the tea steep for 2 to 3 minutes.
Remove the tea leaves or tea bags to prevent bitterness.
Stir in honey or sugar if desired.
Add a lemon slice or mint leaf if using.
Serve hot immediately.
* For a smoother flavor, use water that is hot but not boiling.
* If you prefer stronger tea, use slightly more tea leaves instead of steeping longer.
* Do not steep jasmine green tea for more than 3 minutes, or it may taste bitter.
