Ingredients

  • 8 slices soft white sandwich bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup rainbow sprinkles

Instructions

  • Place the slices of white bread on a clean cutting board or flat surface.
  • Spread each slice evenly with softened butter, covering the bread all the way to the edges.
  • Pour the rainbow sprinkles onto a shallow plate.
  • Place each buttered slice, butter-side down, onto the sprinkles.
  • Press gently so the sprinkles stick well to the butter.
  • Lift the bread and add extra sprinkles to any bare spots if needed.
  • Cut each slice into triangles, squares, or fun shapes.
  • Arrange on a platter and serve immediately.

Notes

Use soft white sandwich bread for the classic fairy bread texture.
Salted butter can be used if you like a sweet-and-salty flavor.
Do not use melted butter because it can make the bread soggy.
For best results, spread the butter evenly to the edges so the sprinkles stick properly.
Fairy bread is best served fresh.
To make ahead, prepare it up to 2 hours in advance and cover loosely at room temperature.
Avoid refrigerating, as the bread may dry out and the sprinkles can lose their crunch.
Freezing is not recommended.
Try themed sprinkles for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions.
